Dr Ester Yeoh – Endocrinologist In Singapore
Dr Ester Yeoh is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Medical Director at Aspen Diabetes & Endocrine clinic in Singapore. She obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2005. After completing basic specialist training in Internal Medicine, she trained in Endocrinology at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Singapore and attained specialist accreditation in Endocrinology. Following that, she was awarded a fellowship by the Ministry of Health under the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) at the Diabetes Centre in King’s College Hospital, London, UK where she was involved in clinical and research work in type 1 diabetes and hypoglycaemia.
At the Admiralty Medical Centre’s Diabetes Centre, a specialised wing of KTPH, Dr Yeoh spearheaded the Flexible Insulin Therapy clinic tailored to individuals with type 1 diabetes. With a steadfast commitment to patient education and empowerment, she guides her patients toward enhanced diabetes self-management. She led the Diabetes Empowerment Programme – Insulin, a group education programme at the centre and her pivotal role included shaping the curriculum and developing patient education e-learning modules for Type 1 diabetes and insulin pump therapy, a collaborative endeavour by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Steering Committee for Diabetes education. Dr Yeoh is passionate about the care of young adults with diabetes and endocrinology issues and was involved in the transition clinic at KKH to enable seamless transition from paediatric to adult endocrinology care. Passionate about education and research, Dr Yeoh has presented her work at international conferences and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Being an advocate for preventive care, she was also the Organising Chairperson for World Diabetes Day events at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital/ Kampung Admiralty over several years.
Dr Yeoh is well-versed in all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology care, including thyroid disorders, osteoporosis and general endocrinology. Her work integrates a holistic approach, addressing both the clinical and psychological aspects of diabetes and endocrinology care. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Service Champion Award at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital over several consecutive years and the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Young Achiever Award in 2018. Dr Yeoh remains a Visiting Consultant at the Admiralty Medical Centre’s Diabetes Centre.
