Question & Answers

I always aspired to be a surgeon, but it was only during my exposure to an O&G posting that my decision changed. Witnessing the birth of newborns sparked a profound sense of fulfillment and enlightenment in everyone around. Subspecializing in gynaecological work further deepened my passion and honed my surgical skills.

Every woman should consider consulting an OBGYN when planning for a family. Additionally, any woman who is sexually active should consider undergoing annual screening with their gynaecologist. Those experiencing dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, or abnormal uterine bleeding should seek advice from an OBGYN consultant.

I believe in continuous self-improvement and growth. Technology advances rapidly, and the same applies to the field of medicine. Delivering talks in my specialty and attending global medical congresses to learn from other experts help me stay updated with the latest advancements and knowledge.

The majority of clinical diagnoses are made based on a patient’s presentation of signs and symptoms. It is essential to pay close attention to the anamnesis and formulate individualized care for each patient. A good physician knows when treatment is best for the patient and when the risks outweigh the benefits. Our medical oath, primum non nocere, must always be remembered.

I firmly believe that providing a clear explanation and allowing ample time for a patient to process her medical condition and treatment are essential. In the current era of medical practice, informed consent plays a crucial role, ensuring that decision-making is a collaborative process between the patient and the doctor.

Any woman who experiences abnormal pelvic pain or severe dysmenorrhea should seek medical advice immediately to rule out underlying gynaecological conditions. Delayed diagnosis of endometriosis or other gynaecological conditions can lead to serious complications.

Many women feel embarrassed or are told that their pain is normal, resulting in delayed treatment. My advice to those experiencing pain is to seek medical attention as early as possible.
